Commercium Technology, Inc. (CTI) was founded in 1998 to help organizations implement reliable and flexible security solutions based on open standards and proven, best-of-breed commercial products. Since its founding, CTI has assisted hundreds of large, medium and small organizations design and deploy such solutions. These solutions often combine high-end Access Management, Password Management, Directory Services and User Account Provisioning technologies with Communications, Encryption and Database products.
As a partner of Postini for almost 10 years, CTI has now built a dedicated team of GApps sales, implementation and support specialists. CTI’s GApps integration capabilities in the messaging and collaboration environment continue to grow alongside its core Identity and Security consulting services.
Below is a description of a few notable Google Apps/Postini migrations CTI has assisted in since the inception of the year:
1) Medical Care Company
CTI designed and implemented a custom GApps implementation for this Medical Care Company.
Google Applications in use:
- GApps
- Google Message Discovery (Email Archiving)
- Google Message Encryption
After the completion of a successful 4 week pilot under the direction of CTI, CTI then lead a migration of all Exchange users to GApps. As part of the migration, user’s Exchange email, .pst files and Outlook calendar events were migrated and users were unaffected in their day-to-day operations.
This implementation allowed the company to retire their PGP encryption in lieu of Google Message Discovery and their Barracuda security servers with the Google Message Security solution, thereby simplifying the company’s support IT requirements as well as overall cost structure.
2) International Government Organization
CTI designed and implemented a custom GApps implementation for this International Government Organization.
Google Applications in use:
- GApps
- Google Message Security Services
- Google Message Discovery (Email Archiving)
CTI migrated all of the organization’s GroupWise users to GApps which included GroupWise archives and calendar events. CTI provided a directory sync solution so that this organization could continue to use the Novel eDirectory as their authoritative user repository and use eDiretcory to automatically provision users into the GApps directory. CTI also integrated a Single Sign-On solution and Mobile (smart phone) password sync solution between eDirectory and GApps so that a second user log-on to GApps was not required and eDirectory controlled UID and password authentication as well as password policy management.
3) International Manufacturing Company
CTI designed and implemented a custom GApps implementation for this leading provider of luxury home and lifestyle products.
Google Applications in use:
- GApps
- Google Message Security Services
CTI migrated all of the company’s Exchange users to GApps. User’s Exchange email, .pst files and Outlook calendar events were all migrated and preserved in GApps. The company continues to use Active Directory as their authoritative user repository. Finally, CTI integrated their Blackberry server with GApps.
4) US College Institution
CTI designed and implemented a custom GApps implementation for this US College Institution.
Google Applications in use:
- GApps
- Google Message Security Services
CTI migrated 5,0000 users (students) to Google Apps while maintaining its academic staff in the existing Exchange environment for a phase 2 migration effort. Google Apps routed all mail for both environments (GApps and Exchange) such that all mail for users not on Google Apps were forwarded to Exchange.
CTI provided this College with the following services:
- Design & implement the Google Apps Migration Solution
- Pilot Google Apps with a selected set of users
- Provided Google Apps administrator and end user support during the pilot
- Migrate the remaining students to Google Apps
- Provided SSO to GApps from the student portal using the Ping Identity solution
